I worked as a composer for a student short film called “NEBYLY jsme tam taky” alongside the director presenting their vision for the scores. My duty was to comply with the vision and create an original score using my experience and creativity.
For these compositions, I blended live-recorded instruments with digitally programmed elements, such as sounds from Kontakt 7 libraries.
Unfortunately, I cannot attach any movie scenes yet, as the short film is currently in festival circuit and any public release could risk disqualification.
As a part of my college project, I redesigned and scored another student short film. I recieved all audio recordings from a recording set with a goal of creating a new possible mix. In this case, my duty was to clean and enhance the dialogue, and create better layers of SFX, foley, background and music. and ensure 100% frame-accurate sync with the visuals.
The dialogue was cleaned with RX11 elements and enhanced using other plug-ins. I primarly used Soundly for SFX and background but all the foley sounds (as a top layer) were recorded live. For the music, I wanted to create melancholic, sometimes atmospheric scores, which would perfectly fit the emotions captured on screen.
My other college project, and also a great experience, was recreating a sound design and score for an online game trailer called “SoulFrame”. I received a muted video file and redesigned the whole audio of this trailer. I combined both Soundly and recorded foley sounds to gain more realistic sound. Each of these sounds had to be completly in sync with the video to achieve the professional industry-level sound.
To match the trailer’s high production value, I composed an epic, cinematic soundtrack, which would symbolize heroism, bravery, war and victory. Other goal was to guide the soundtrack throughout the trailer.
I am also a huge fan of electronic music and in my spare time i tend to experiment and create with electronic sounds, which is a great practice when it comes to sound design, electronic synthesis or different production techniques. These techniques can be also applied for film scoring.
One of my goals is to be fluent across all the different electronic music genres, to be able to possibly mix those genres together and create interesting hybrid tracks. My most favorite genres at the moment are Drum and Bass, House, Trap and Dubstep.
I started creating music primarily as an electronic producer but I slowly shifted my approach to acoustic music. This helped me enhance my musical knowledge and deepened my instrument-playing ability.
For my college Major project, I created a portfolio of 3 original compositions. Each track in this portfolio represents different musical genre (Reggae, Pop-punk, Alternative Rock). I chose this approach to show my diversity.
